I’m from Kalamazoo, Michigan by way of Louisville, Kentucky; the oldest of 5 siblings and I’m also an ordained minister. In early 2010 I was a featured poet in Kinetic Effect’s Speak Out program in Battle Creek. I was a feature at WMU’s 2010 Black History Program, KVCC’s Black History Program, and included in a poetry anthology by the people of Fire as well. I’m working on a collection of my ten best poems for my book Life Don’t Always Give You Lemons coming soon. I always keep in mind that if my poetry can make you smile, encourage, change, or simply make you think—then my poetry is not in vain.
